Happy Winter Solstice! The Sun Shines in Capricorn!

Photo by ItzaFineDayThe Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice are two of my favorite days of the year. They represent the highs and low of the sun and available sunlight to all. Interesting, that as we in the northern hemisphere are experiencing our shortest days, the southern hemisphere is experiencing its longest days of the year – what a beautiful balance!
As such, we enter Capricorn, (a more serious, steady sign than playful, firey Sagittarius) and it is a season of steadfast ambition and initiative. It seems as though this is the perfect sign to embrace the culmination of one year, and to inspire the goals, achievements, and resolutions for the new year. For those are concepts that require practicality, leadership, and power. It is also the time that the sun commences it’s journey towards the summer solstice, day by day, adding more power and inspiration with each increasing minute of daylight. Like the symbol of Capricorn, the goat, step-by-step the goat solidly puts one foot in front of the other as it begins its inspired ascent from the water’s edge to the top of the mountain.
For now, we enjoy all that the holidays bring to us, and we reflect upon this year and all the good, all of the lessons that came our way, we bless it, embrace it, and release it.
With the eclipse upon us at the end of the year, be sure to CLEANSE and FORGIVE all of the contrast that 2009 brought, you won’t want to be hanging onto any of it come December 31 with our full lunar eclipse in Cancer.
By freeing yourself of the past, emotionally, and physically – and recognizing all of your cleansing accomplishments, your health feats and lessons learned…you will glide into the season of Capricorn that much more easily, and leverage the clarity and realism Capricorn brings to us.
Awesome post! You have a great blog, absolutely the best Ive read so far. I will be looking forward to your next entry. Thanks again.
