2010 Young Living Convention Notes – Day 4 ~ Thanks to Alan Zerr
Day 4 – Saturday – June 19, 2010 – Last day of YL Convention
“We don’t get disease; we create disease by what we eat, drink, think and say” – Dr. Bernard Jensen
Learn to manage stress – allow it to make us stronger and better.
Stress Management Panel
Tracy Griffiths, Dr. Peter Minke, Dr. Edward Close, Dr. Dan Purser, moderated by Doug Corrigan
Stress – creates negative physiological changes in the body – Intense, prolonged stress damages the pituitary gland which cause tumors
Dr. Ed Close on Quantum Physics – our cells rest on a sea of uncertainty at the quantum level. We control it with thoughts, words, attitude and lifestyle.
Tracy Griffiths – Stress takes us away from the present. We must stay present as much as possible.
Dr. Dan Purser – Stress can lead to inflammation in the blood vessels and heart and can lead to a heart attack.
Dr. Peter Minke – keep your body’s adrenal account full. Stress depletes your adrenal account. Spending from your adrenal account causes inflammation. It doesn’t matter which oil you choose as long as it is “pure” (therapeutic).
Stress Away Roll-On & Peace & Calming Blend Tracy Griffiths – Stress Away and Ruta Vala can be used to reduce stress. Rub three times in the palm of the hand to “wake up” the oil and inhale several times and then rub on the back of the neck and use Vitaflex technique to drive the oil deeper.
Dr. Peter Minke – Valor EO balances physical energy, Harmony EO balances the electrical energy (frequencies). White Angelica EO balances the auric (spiritual) energy. EOs enter the blood stream within seconds but have a half life in the body of less than 30 minutes. They are utilized where necessary and quickly eliminated. Dr. Minke recommends Tranquil EO for the brain.
Dr. Dan Purser – Progesterone Plus re-myalizes the nerve sheaths. He also recommends Femigen and Endo-Gize.
Tracy Griffiths – favorite products are Multi-Greens, Power Meal and Ningxia Red. Favorite essential oils (eo) are Peppermint and Lavender used together. In her Aromatherapy Yoga classes she diffuses Geranium and Gentle Baby to help people drop their guard and open up. Tracy’s favorite stress management tool is to place a drop of Stress Away or Ruta Vala on first 2 fingers and then with the thumb, close one nostril and inhale through the other nostril. Then close that nostril with the ring finger and exhale and then inhale through that nostril. Repeat. This process balances the brain hemispheres.
Dr. Ed Close – favorite products are Thieves EO (gets rid of black mold), Ningxia Red and the YL supplements. He uses Clarity EO for meditation to get in touch with Higher Power. He has an attitude of “This too shall pass”. His favorite oils are Thieves and Frankincense.
Dr. Peter Minke – favorite products are Cal Mag to calm the body. He also loves Power Meal, Multi Greens, Super C and the oils. He loves the feeling of being well and recommends becoming addicted to wellness. The body is an antenna; clean up the fuzzy picture. He diffuses Peppermint EO in his office. His favorite health tip: upon waking drink at least ½ liter of water with lemon oil to re-hydrate muscles, organs and brain. Water first as coffee upsets the body’s ability to absorb water. He also recommends deep diaphragm breathing which calms the mind and the body and balances the brain.
Dr. Dan Purser – favorite products are Immupro (for sleeping), PD80/20 (every other day),and Pregnenalone. He recommends Yoga (with Pan Away and/or Stress Away) as a great exercise for fibromyalgia. His favorite EO is Sacred Frankincense. To optimize hormone levels he recommends Progessence Plus, Stress Away and ImmuPro.
Doug Corrigan – uses and loves Joy EO by inhaling it and rubbing on the back of the neck to get him into the present moment.
Frankincense Panel
Sadqa Hak is a Frankincense distiller from Kenya, Dr. Mahmoud Suhail from Oman, Dr. H. K. Lin from U. of Oklahoma, Marc Schreuder is Director of Product Formulation at YL, Gary Young is President of YL – moderated by Cole Woolley, PhD from YL.
Dr. Mahmoud Suhail – Frankincense trees grow out of the limestone (no soil presence). Oman is more humid than Yemen so the Frankincense bark has a more peppered look. The higher elevations produce a lighter colored resin than lower elevations (darker resin). Dr. Sukhail sees maybe one cancer patient a year. Cancer is relatively unknown in Oman. Frankincense resin can be soaked in water overnight and the water is consumed upon rising in the morning. Frankincense resin can also be chewed and burned in a Frankincense burner. Boswellic acid from Frankincense resin is alcohol soluble and has shown promise in the treatment of arthritis (both rheumatoid and osteo) as it is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It has also demonstrated positive results as a bronchial dilator (asthma), and in the treatment of Crohns, ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Suhail also mentioned there are no cancer wards in Oman. He also mentioned the dark green resin is the Frankincense “hojari superior” and the white resin is the “hojari royal”.
Gary Young – Frankincense slows and even reverses the aging process in those who consume it regularly. Burning the resin stimulates the immune system. The frankincense harvest must be sustainable. More than three cuts may prevent the Frankincense tree from producing seed as some trees are cut up to 10 times by the local harvesters during the harvest season. Gary also mentioned he plans to introduce a Frankincense Toothpaste in about 4 months. He also mentioned Frankincense resin will be available for online ordering soon.
Sadqa Haq – talking about the distillation process – the resin is separated and placed in the distiller. Purified water is added and the Frankincense resin is soaked for 1 hour. The water is then heated to 40C and the resin is soaked in this heated water for another hour. The mixture of resin and water is then heated to 70C to 80C indirectly in a steam jacket and held there for 24 hours. It is then cooled to 5C? for 4 hours in order to draw off all the notes (chemical constituents).
Marc Schreuder – recommended using an HPLC (High Precision Liquid Chromatograph) to get a more complete picture looking for Boswellic acid and Incensol in the Frankincense essential oil. They found them both with up to 7% Boswellic acid presence in Boswellia sacra Frankincense.
Dr. H. K. Lin – is using Boswellic acid ( Frankincense EO) to destroy a variety of cancer cells successfully. He also stated Frankincense oil (therapeutic grade) can be used as a cancer preventive is used daily.
Gary Young on New Products and Future Products
The farm in Ecuador is producing enough Yacon for small product runs and research. Yacon has shown promise as a powerful antioxidant which may help prevent colon cancer and osteoporosis. The Yacon leaves can be distilled to produce an essential oil which stops the development of detrimental organisms in the colon. It also has been shown to reduce fat and triglycerides in the blood. Yacon has many of the same attributes, but in greater measure, of green tea, ellagic acid and alpha-tocopherals. Yacon may also help prevent type 2 diabetes. It also stimulates an increased fat burning metabolic function.
Ecuador Cacao from which YL chocolate is made is high in Gallic acid and Catechins. Gallic acid research has shown it to be antifungal and antiviral. Other research has shown dark chocolate increases the blood flow to the skin and reduces roughness and protects sun damage. Cocoa also may reduce blood pressure. YL chocolate is made from Cacao shade dried for 9 days and the roasted at 40C for 180 minutes. Conventional cacao is roasted at 122C for 30 minutes which destroys most of the nutrients.
“Majestic Essence” is a new chocolate product and includes both individually wrapped chocolate nuggets and bars, sweetened with Yacon and enhanced with Boswellic acid. * Silver wrapped nuggets contain peppermint EO and Boswellic acid.
* Blue wrapped nuggets are enhanced with almonds, peppermint EO and Boswellic acid.
* Orange wrapped nuggets are enhanced with Cassia EO, Clove EO, Lemon peel EO, Cinnamon bark EO, Eucalyptus EO, Rosemary EO, Ishpingo EO and Boswellic acid.
* Red wrapped nuggets are enhanced with Ylang ylang EO, Chili powder, Lime peel EO, Nutmeg EO, Pepper EO and Boswellic acid.
* Green wrapped nuggets are enhanced with Orange rind EO, Cinnamon bark EO, Spruce needle EO and Boswellic acid.
* Gold wrapped nuggets are enhanced with Almonds, Peppermint EO, Clove EO and Boswellic acid.
* The dark chocolate bars contain almonds, peppermint EO and Boswellic acid.
Gary also announced YL is working on a product to be called “ChoBo Tea”. Ingredients will include Ecuador dark chocolate, Boswellic acid, Ocatea EO and Wu-long (Oolong?) tea.
Saturday afternoon – 1:30pm
Doug Nelson, CEO of Young Living introduced Dr. H. K. Lin of the University of Oklahoma
Dr. H. K. Lin talked about his research projects where he is testing:
* Frankincense (Bosellia carterii)
* Sandalwood (Santalum album)
* Balsam fir (Abies balsamea)
* Palo santo (Bursera graveolens)
* Tsuga also known as Canadian Hemlock (Tsuga Canadensis) against five forms of cancer including breast, prostrate, colon, lung and pancreas.
Dr. Lin went over numerous slides showing anti-cancer activity of the various oils on various cell formations. He also mentioned that Frankincense EO can distinguish cancer cells from normal cells.
We had to leave the convention at 3pm to catch a flight so we missed the last 2 hours.
End of 2010 Convention Notes.
